I Might Have To Switch To Formula…but I Dont Want To?

My son will be 2 months old. I’ve been breastfeeding him since he was born. But lately it feels like I’m not feeding him enough. I drink water & eat as much as I can to produce more milk. But my son is ALWAYS hungry. He cries & cries & I feel so bad. He pulls at my nip & gets so mad because nothing is coming out. Someone told me he needs to be on the breast for more than 20 minutes because after at least 20 minutes, the “creamy” milk that will fill him up starts to come down. But after 10 minutes (when he thinks there’s nothing there) he unlatches & doesnt wanna suck anymore. So one time I fought with him & kept putting him back on the SAME breast so he could suck long enough for the filling milk would come out. But by the time the 10 minutes was done, he fought so hard he was too tired to suck & fell asleep. He looks like he’s getting fat, but I havent actually weighed him.
I know how much breastfeeding benefits my bby & I really REALLY dont wanna stop. But I also dont wanna starve him if he’s not getting enough. It’s hard for me to pump cause it always seems like he is constantly on the breasts to eat. And I was told by the doctor not to supplement between breastmilk & formula cause it could mess up his stomach. I dont wanna give up…but its hard to comprehend the fact I might not be able to do this for long. Any input? & please, no negativity.
